Now that we have been through the somewhat underwhelming Blazer draft period let’s take a look at some of the numerical indicators for the coming season. Numbers for the two drafted rookies suggest Neil Olshey may end up with kudos in the end after these two grow into their place with the team.
First round pick Anfernee Simons numbers are IS=4, S=4, P=9 and LN=6. This basically indicates a hard working and disciplined player who will take instruction and strive for excellence and perfection at what he does. To get a reference point for the team numbers click on this sentence. It is a good team fit, and he could be the needed steady 1 rotation player to come in behind Dame.
Gary Dajaun Trent Junior numbers include IS=5, S=9, P=5 and LN=2(11).There is the suggestion of flexibility, originality and a rich reservoir of untapped talent that could result in a solid rotation player at minimum. He could be similar to Wesley Matthews, and take some time, but become a very significant contributor to team success.
His numbers are also compatible with with the team numbers, AND a near match with coach Stotts (see here). This can make it easy for the two to communicate and for the player to be comfortable with the coaching style.
The summer league season augers well for these baby Blazers, and they could well end up in the championship game once again. Until trades and deals are completed it is hard to make any further numerological statements. This could well be a make or break season for Olshey.
