The following is an except from my latest book Numerology of Astrology: Degrees of the Sun. With some exceptions those born on the first of January have the sun 10 degrees in Capricorn. These descriptions are written for old souls who have been on the planet many times and are nearing the time to face their dark side, integrate Self, complete the karmic cycle and evolve further into a new dimension.
The verbatim description is not going to exactly fit every single person with this degree. It is important to look at the archetypal meaning and adjust to the circumstance of the person’s life. Probably the name from this group that most people recognize is Issac Asimov.
If this is your sun sign you are dynamic, distant and often decidedly determined to get things done right. With this combination you may have many natural talents or potential possibilities expressing yourself. It is difficult to single out one particular ability or interest. It may take you a little longer than some of your contemporaries to find your path or direction in life. Once you do, however, you proceed with a determination that would rival any zealot. Your self confidence and leadership qualities are well known, but if these are compromised it can lead to flawed thinking, indecision and a passive form of manipulation. You become underhanded rather than commanding.
You are concerned with the importance of social order and the maintenance of the protocols and rules of law. You are aware of the freedom and fulfillment that comes from finding your place within the greater whole. You are sensitive to the forces that disrupt a well functioning society. There is the karmic suggestion of having been in power or authority in another time and social place. You watched as that society became compromised and collapsed, possibly in a spectacular manner. Perhaps much blame or public shame was placed upon you. You dream of a utopian world and fear the decision making process that can lead to social collapse.
The Capricorn personality is known for being distant, perhaps cold and unfeeling. From a perspective of external observation that quality seems to be evident with this combination. From an inner perspective there is much compassion and caring for others, but it is not easy for you to express in words of direct forms of affection.
You are more comfortable displaying your thoughtfulness in the actions and deeds that you do for others. You see options and solutions that are ahead of the times and may live on the fringe of social changes that are evolving.
