On January 20, 2021 Joseph Robinette Biden Junior celebrated a Hollywood like gala event of ritualistic music and a mesmerizing light show. Coming off of a transition filled with controversy and contention, he assumed party leadership and set out to explain his agenda to a confused and uncertain nation.
Let’s take a quick look at what we might expect during his tenure. From the first day’s announcements and quick numerical scan we get a picture of tighter control, more government involvement with domestic issues and a continued leftist trend for the nation. His mixed interaction with other nations as veep makes it unclear how he will be seen internationally. Because of previous questionable policies with some European nations, time will have to make clear what direction will be taken, especially with Eastern Bloc nations. His personal and political connections with China suggest cooperation among comrades at arms.
Whatever his aims or deeds, the numbers suggest that his time in place will most likely be limited, and he very possibly will not complete a four year reign. If he lasts two years, there will arise stiff challenges regarding policy, and/or possible serious issues of health. Beyond that, there will be doubt about his leadership capacity. The impact of peer pressure groups in his circle could place favor upon his vice presidential choice, and the world can expect a lot of maneuvering for power around him.
(Update) May 18, 2021. a quick look at the numbers, as I see it, suggest Joe Robinette Jr. will likely be replaced within 6-8 months.
